Loo Talk 3 – The things I’ve heard in the Loo

I was in the stall of a restroom/washroom doing my business when someone walked in, talking with her account officer on the phone. With nowhere to go and nothing else to do, I heard her reeling out private account details and possibly passwords. Not long after, another person came into the restroom, entered a stall and began to give off really private details. I have actually overheard someone having a phone (job) interview in an adjacent stall of the restroom in my office.

I have a few questions

1.       What are your thoughts on restrooms with stalls?

2.       Do you think privacy should be considered when building restrooms?

3.       Will you make “private” phone calls (or any phone calls for that matter) in a restroom?

4.       Is privacy an overarching need when deciding which restrooms are cool or not?

We’ll love to hear your interesting restroom stories. Please share your views and experiences.

Loo Talk 2 – Restroom Detectors

I remember a restroom I visited that had a means of detecting when someone had used the toilet and left their ‘business’ unattended to. I was told that the sensor works with the closing of the door. Once it senses that the door is closed, it checks the toilet bowl to confirm that it is clean.

I was thinking about this ‘restroom’ business so I decided to look up “Toilet Matters”. The first website I found was quite interesting. It was about a family that agreed to have a sensor installed in their toilet paper pad to collect data on toilet paper usage.

A few questions stand out to me

1.       Will you allow a detector be installed in your restroom at home?

2.       Will you feel comfortable using a restroom with detectors in a public place?

3.       Is it ethical to install detectors in restrooms?

Please share your views and experiences.

So, why are we interested in what your restroom looks like?

These are a few comments on a post I put up about my unpleasant experience in a restroom I visited recently…You can read the post itself here

“I still don’t understand why some ‘topshot’ organizations don’t pay attention to their restrooms. I mean they’re making good money…To Whom It May Concern, some of us will take our business elsewhere if we consider you tacky enough to have such a mess as a restroom...”

“I rate organizations and places I go by their toilets. If your toilet is not welcoming, then in my opinion, you are a crappy company…”

“Even churches, if your toilet isn’t clean, I won’t attend…It is one of the reasons I stuck to my present church”
